On a green headland above the Gulf of Tunis, Carthage keeps its ruins in the late light — a row of standing columns, Corinthian capitals fallen into golden grass, dark cypress holding the line the way they have for centuries. Across the bay, the twin peaks of Bou Kornine turn violet at dusk over a flat blue sea. The poster gathers all of it inside a wine-purple frame, « CARTHAGE — La Rivale de Rome » across the top in classic vintage serif — Dido's city, the one Hannibal marched from, razed in 146 BC and raised again.
